What’s in a domain name?
Domain names make website addresses easy to remember. Sure, you can have a website without purchasing a domain name. But your website address or “URL” (universal resource locator) will be much less appealing.

Domain names that end in .com are by far the most popular. Unfortunately that means it’s harder to find a good one that’s not already taken.
Many Canadian businesses and organizations prefer .ca domain names.
Customers should make a prioritized list of preferred domain names. The availability of domain names can be researched online at http://internic.ca/search.asp.

Domain names must be renewed annually.
